Welcome to The Relationist Blog.
This new venture seeks to stimulate relational thinking widely; to enable people to understand a range of contemporary issues from a Relational perspective; and to help build an international community of Relationist thinkers who are committed to applying Relational Principles to all aspects of life, both public and private.
We are launching today with a short series of posts examining some of the relational implications of the Covid-19 pandemic, from a variety of different angles:
- Time to Re-socialize our Covid World by Robert Hall, on the need to reverse two years of relational withdrawal;
- The Relational Dimension of the Lockdown Disaster by Paul Mills, on how policy-makers have consistently neglected the relational harms imposed by their response to the pandemic;
- The Relational Challenge of COVID-19 by Paul Shepanski, the first of a series of posts examining different modes of relating in the context of the pandemic; and
- When Relationships Really Work: the Ventilator Challenge by Jonathan Tame, with a striking illustration of how good quality relationships make all the difference in a moment of crisis.
We are initially aiming to publish new posts on an approximately monthly basis (although he remaining posts in Paul Shepanski’s series will appear more quickly than that), but hope to increase the frequency as readers are stimulated to contribute themselves. Unsolicited submissions are welcome: please follow the guidelines in our Notes for Contributors and send contributions to editor[at]the-relationist.net.
Comments and discussion are also encouraged, but to help reduce spamming and trolling comments will be moderated before appearing on the site.
We hope you find the posts (and any discussion) thought-provoking and stimulating, and that they encourage you both to nurture the quality of your own relationships and to spread the word about putting relationships first in all areas of life. If you would like to be alerted when new posts are published please contact us.
